FANCY SEEING THEIR CONFIDENCE GROW?
We all want our children to dance through life. Not literally, but for them to have life skills that help them, every step of the way. At Fancy Footwork Dance Academy we have classes for every age and every stage. From 18 months it’s all about developing our boys’ and girls’ imagination, coordination, musicality and storytelling. After that our students develop their poise, grace, technique and most importantly, confidence, in our dance classes for children at primary and secondary school. And grown-ups can join us for some ‘me-time’ at adult ballet or Zumba.
MAKE THE FIRST STEPS, THE RIGHT STEPS
Our carefully structured lessons – Preschooler’s Move to Music, Ballet, Tap, Modern & Jazz, Musical Theatre, Street Dance, Boys Ballet and Zumba – have been developed by Royal Ballet-trained Principal, Lucy Clay.
Our classes provide the perfect foundation in every dance discipline and, whilst we pride ourselves on providing a fun, creative atmosphere for our pupils, we also put an emphasis on achievement, with the option to study for Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) exams. Whether you’re looking for daytime, after school, Saturday morning or holiday sessions, we have something to fit with your family routine.
FANCY FOOTWORK NEAR YOU
We love that we are a local, community-based dance school. Fancy Footwork runs ‘between-the-commons’ dance classes, at Belleville Primary School, Chatham Hall, St Michael’s Church, Oak Lodge School, Broomwood Hall and St Luke’s Community Hall. We are also at Oliver House School in Clapham and Belleville School, Meteor Street in Battersea. We hope one of our classes is within walking distance of your house.
You can try all our dance and ballet classes in Wandsworth and South-West London (SW4, SW11, SW12, SW16, SW18) at a free trial class – just telephone to book.
FANCY LEARNING WITH A GREAT TEACHING TEAM?
Fancy Footwork classes are all run by our highly trained, professional dance teachers who are experts in coaching children. Our vast range of ballet classes are taught by Miss Lucy Clay, Miss Vanessa Headland, Miss Lucie Ashley or Miss Ashleigh Pitts. At our Saturday morning Musical Theatre classes Miss Meg McCarthy mixes up drama, songs, dialogue and dance for a fun-packed session. Miss Kate Mackie is our Tap and Modern expert, teaching the tricks of Tap and the lyrical expression required for Modern. No matter which of our teachers your child is with, you can rest assured that their talent will be nurtured to help them fulfill their potential, whatever their level.
PERFORMANCE FUN AND FRiENDSHIP
Many of our dancers relish the chance to perform. We provide perfect opportunities at our bi-annual performances at the prestigious New Wimbledon Theatre, in Southwest London, as well as at events in the local community. When the show is over there are treasured memories to take back to regular classes where firm friendships are built in a wonderful escape from the daily routine.
